JUPITER, Fla. • In one of the worst-kept secrets of the spring, manager Mike Matheny said that righthander Adam Wainwright will make the opening day start on April 1 in Arizona.
It will be Wainwright’s third opening game start although his first one, in 2008, was rained out after the Cardinals had taken a big lead against Colorado in St. Louis.
