Harrah's goes Hollywood




MARYLAND HEIGHTS • The new boss of one of Missouri’s largest casinos is relieved that the state’s newest gambling hall is more than 100 miles away, rather than just around the corner in St. Louis’ big but slow-growth gaming market.

Tony Carlucci, who is overseeing conversion of the Harrah’s casino in Maryland Heights as a Hollywood Casino, said state gaming regulators were smart to put the new casino in Cape Girardeau, far from St. Louis.

“We don’t see the Cape Girardeau casino hurting us in any way,” he said....
