SLU beats Charlotte 72-55 at A-10 tournament

NEW YORK • No. 16 St. Louis U. advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament with an easy 72-55 win over Charlotte at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon.

The win improves top seed SLU's record to 25-6 and puts it into a game on Saturday against either Butler or La Salle. The game will start at 12:30 Central time and be televised on CBS Sports Network.

Dwayne Evans scored 25 points for SLU – going nine for nine at the free throw line – and had nine rebounds and Cody Ellis had 13, though his best shot of the game, a banked-in 3-pointer from midcourt that came after the shot clock had expired. SLU shot just 37.5 percent from the field, but Evans was almost unstoppable, making eight of nine shots.
