With Halloween right around the corner, TripAdvisor has named the 10 spookiest getaways in the country by TripAdvisor.com.

Here's what the editors said:

Alton: Located along the Mississippi River, this scenic Midwest spot has been called "The Most Haunted City in America" by some paranormal enthusiasts.
