Postseason college basketball tournaments that aren’t the NCAA are, let’s face it, of minimal interest to anyone. So much of the sporting world probably paid little or no attention to the College Basketball Invitational that followed the 2009-10 season, a tournament televised on HDNet that ended with a best-of-three final between St. Louis U. and Virginia Commonwealth.
VCU swept the series, beating a SLU team that by the end was so short on healthy players that walk-on Darrin Young played 11 minutes in the final game...
