A potential Christmas snowstorm has road crews in Missouri and Illinois treating highways and preparing to be away from their families.

"This is what we do," said Larry Doelling, maintenance superintendent for the Missouri Department of Transportation. "It's unfortunate that it falls on Christmas, but we've worked many a Christmas in years prior.
