For the first time, the Baseball Writers Association of America announced finalists for its awards. The winners will be announced next week. Monday will be rookie awards, Tuesday managers, Wednesday Cy Young and Thursday MVPs. Here are the finalists:
NATIONAL LEAGUE
MVP • Yadier Molina (Cardinals), Ryan Braun (Brewers), Chase Headley (Padres), Andrew McCutchen (Pirates), Buster Posey (Giants).
Cy Young • R.A. Dickey (Mets), Gio Gonzalez (Nationals), Clayton Kershaw (Dodgers).
Rookie • Bryce Harper (Nationals), Todd Frazier (Reds), Wade Miley (Diamondbacks).
