ST. CHARLES • Interstate 70 traffic will be limited to two lanes in each direction this weekend in preparation to close the westbound Blanchette Bridge.

On I-70, the Missouri Department of Transportation will shift all westbound traffic to the eastbound side either late Sunday night or early Monday morning before Monday morning’s commute, said Linda Wilson Horn, a MoDOT spokeswoman.

But before the switch, MoDOT will close two eastbound lanes at noon today from Highway 94 to the St. Louis County (east) end of the I-70 bridge.

A third eastbound lane will close at 10 p.m. today and remain closed until Monday.
