A new collective bargaining agreement in the NHL isn't expected anytime soon, certainly not today, which is the deadline league Commissioner Gary Bettman recently set for playing an 82-game regular season in 2012-13.
Bettman, who spoke Wednesday after a news conference announcing the relocation of the New York Islanders to Brooklyn, said the NHL is sticking to the deadline it attached to the proposal made to the NHL Players' Association last week.
