Cards have homegrown flavor for opener

PHOENIX • When he addressed the entire roster during spring training, Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak aimed his comments to the far side of the clubhouse where the youngest players and the biggest jersey numbers dwell.

The Cardinals consolidate the minor-leaguers, with football-like 60s, 70s and 80s stitched to their jerseys, on the wall opposite the returning big-leaguers, and Mozeliak sought to speak to directly to them about their future, saying soon they could be on the other side of the room.
