SLU beats La Salle, wins A-10 title

Talk about going out with a bang.

In the final home game for St. Louis University’s three seniors and the team’s last stop before heading to Brooklyn, N.Y., for the Atlantic 10 tournament, the 16th-ranked Billikens closed their regular season on Saturday with a spectacular final 20 minutes against La Salle. They took a tight game and turned it into a 78-54 romp that allowed SLU to check just about every box on their to-do list before a sell-out crowd at Chaifetz Arena.

“I can’t think of a better way to go out,” senior Cody Ellis said. “Win, win at home, clinch the A-10, clinch the first seed in the tournament. I can’t think of too many better things, really.”
