WASHINGTON • On the eve of Game 4 of the National League division series between the Cardinals and Nationals, a member of the Cards clubhouse was presented with a scenario: Winning Game 4 would be a break because it allowed the Cardinals to setup their ideal pitching rotation for the NL championship series.
The Cardinal shook his head. He had another scenario in mind.
"It means we avoid Gio," he said. "He's tough."
He certainly has been against the Cardinals.
